Wow.... what a fantastic weekend we had!  We had the pleasure of spending Thanksgiving Weekend at Mac's Shacks this year.  As a large extended family, we appreciated being able to rent all of the units as it gave us lots of space as well as privacy for each family.  The units were fabulous, the deck, the hot tub, and the kayaks were enjoyed by all, and the evening campfires were an excellent way to cap off the fun filled days.  After many years of renting elsewhere we feel like we have finally found the perfect spot!  Thanks to Karen and Peter for thinking of absolutely everything....

Came to Mac's Shacks to celebrate my 30th birthday. Perfect little place to get away from the city. Despite the unusually cold weather, we had a great time. Star-gazing on the dock, hiking the Bruce Trail, fishing and just relaxing. Very much recommend this place to anyone. You'll have a great time!

What an amazing place, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Huron was very spacious, comfortable and a great place to relax. All amenities were at our finger tips.

We would recommend Mac's Shacks to anyone, you will not be sorry.

We will be back and recommend spending time here.  Nothing like kicking back and sitting on the dock with your fishing pole!  So quiet.  Great for biking. We brought up some great recipes to try. Nothing like BBQ on the dock!

We had a great time at Mac's Shacks.  Enjoyed every moment of our time here and really relaxed. The cottage is perfectly equipped for a family.

This cottage is beautiful and spacious.  You have put a lot of thought into making it an enjoyable place to spend a week by the water.

We particularily enjoyed the big firepit and especially, the after dark relaxation in the super hot tub/whirlpool...such a lovely way to end the day

You have an amazing set up here.  Of course, the view is fantastic, especially the well known Lake Huron sunsets. We've enjoyed just sitting on the spacious deck relaxing.  The interior is so lovely and you've thought of just about everything vacationers would want to have.

Our favourite adventures were relaxing in this beautiful spot, boating and exploring the Huron waters, kayaking around the islands, having friends for a cook out, sharing a sunset and making new friends with the wonderful MacDonald family.  We feel as if we have know them forever.

Jack and I loved our two weeks here.  We have been coming to the Bruce since the early 50's  and this spot is heaven.  The MacDonald's have created a wonderful, restful, "spa-like" haven and we enjoyed every moment - such comfort.

We have plenty of memories and photos to take home to share with our friends in Australia.  We would recommend spending some quality time at Peter and Karen's, Mac's Shacks and wish them great success.  The planning and detail are fantastic!

Great family spot!  The accommodations are spectacular.  The kids won't know what cottage life is really about.  The bar has been set high.  You and Peter have done a great job.  Hoping to be back next year with the girlfriends!

This is a lovely place for a family vacation.  It is a place where you can enjoy the beauty of the cottage, the nature and the lake. This was my best vacation ever!  I will be back this summer for another week, and of course every year from now on!  Thank you very much, Karen and Peter for this lovely vacation.  All the best!

I would like to share the wonderful time spent at the Huron cottage at Mac's Shacks. Myself and 3 girlfriends spent a few nights at this lovely upscale cottage 2 weeks ago. We had a warm greeting by a lovely hostess who showed us our home for the next few days. Not only was the cottage esthetically beautiful but was equipped with everything one could possibly want or need. Being right on the water the view was second to none and we enjoyed a hot tub in the evenings which was on the waters edge.While in the hot tub we saw the most lovely sunsets you can imagine. Mac's Shacks are perfect for family, friends or a girls getaway, as we enjoyed. Please do yourself a favour and visit this wonderful part of Ontario and indulge yourself at Mac's Shacks. You will never regret it. I know I won't.
